New Playmats, Commander Collection and New Stretch Goals!

$50,000 raised in a week.  Outstanding!  Take a bow, this is thanks to you.

Playmats!  Get your New Playmats!

Ok, you've waited long enough, here are the two new playmats for this project that were unlocked with the $40,000 Stretch Goal:

Both playmats are available as options for Rewards and Add Ons and can be chosen when we send out the Backer Surveys once the project is complete.

Backers of The Completionist reward level will receive these in addition to the others already included, bringing the total number of playmats you will be receiving to 9.  This package just keeps getting better and better.

Commander Collection List (and others)

I've received multiple requests for an updated list of the Token Collections as well as the final list for the Commander Collection.  Well, the wait is over!

Special Thanks to Bennie Smith for helping to design the Commander Collection.  A few things didn't make the cut, be we tried to cover all the major bases.

Each collection now has 54 total cards, up from the 48 on launch.  We initially were not looking to expand the collections any further, but after running some numbers, it looks like we will be able to with.....

New Stretch Goals

To keep the momentum going and reduce the gaps in between Stretch Goals, we are introducing a new $90,000 Stretch Goal that will expand the Token Collections to 72 cards each and bumping the $100,000 Goal to 8 Bonus Tokens. 

One thing this will allow us to do is adjust the Collections to account for new game releases and metagame shifts from now until printing time. 

We may not be able to completely match what will be popular come shipping, but we will make every effort to make each collection as relevant as possible.

Now that we are all caught up on Stretch Goals, it's time to get back to the promotion game.  We want to make these tokens and playmats just as much as you want to have them in your hands.

Retailer Stockpile - New Reward Level

Since launching the project, I have received several requests for a Retailer friendly reward level for the enterprising stores that want to stock our tokens.

After running some numbers and putting a good package together, I created new Reward Level for the project that is now live on Kickstarter.

• 5 Basic Sets
• 5 of each Token Collection (25 total)
• 10 Full Sets
• 2 of each Playmat (18 total)

While the Retailer Stockpile is designed with Retailers in mind, it's open to everyone.  With over 2,000 tokens and 18 playmats, it definitely presents the best per token/playmat value in the project.

As with The Completionist package, any additional Playmat designs or Token Collections that are included in the project in the future will be automatically added to this reward.

Another request that I've received often is a text list of all of the tokens. 

I thought of sharing it on the project or in an update, but none of the built-in Kickstarter formatting worked well enough for my purposes.

So, to ensure that everyone can get see all of the token information, I created a Google Doc with all of the details in one place.

Just a quick update today.

Playmats - Worth the Wait

I had hoped to be able to share the new Playmat designs, unlocked with the $40,000 Stretch Goal, but there is still a little bit more work to do on them before I they can be shared.

I know I've said how much I love all of the tokens and playmats we've created for this project, but these new ones are seriously good.  For realsies.

The new designs should be coming out on Monday as I will be traveling and working on them over the weekend.  I'll still be checking messages and comments over the weekend, so keep sending those in!

Magic TCG Player Likes Us!

I'm reasonably certain that you've heard of TCG Player if you're supporting this project, but in case you have never heard of them, they are one of the largest retailers of Magic and the go to site I use for buying cards.  (No, this is not a paid ad)

Well, this morning I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had plugged this project on their Facebook page.

It is great to see such a prominent organization take the time and support our project.  Thanks TCG Player!

Let's Get to $60,000

We are now knocking at the door of the $50,000 Stretch Goal and I am already in the process of securing a booth for GP Portland.

Beyond that stands the $60,000 Stretch Goal and 6 brand spanking new Bonus Tokens.

To help get us there, here is a bit of motivation. 

This is one of the 6 Bonus Tokens that will be included in the $60,000 Stretch Goal for all backers at the Basic Set reward level and above.

More Bonus Tokens and the Uncut Sheet revealed

Welcome to Day 3!

Yesterday, we broke through the $30,000 Stretch Goal and are already halfway to the next one and 2 new Playmat designs.

As with the $15,000 Stretch Goal, the Bonus Tokens that have been unlocked will be sent to all Backers at the Basic Set and above Reward Level. 

That means you will now receive 10 additional tokens, over and above the Reward and Add Ons you chose.

The Kitten and Giant Teddy Bear tokens from the last batch generated a lot of interest.  Hopefully these Bonus Tokens will continue to surprise and amuse you.

For this round of Bonus Tokens, I completed a series by Alfons Mucha that I wanted to include in the project ever since I saw it.  

This alternate art Goat Token was in the running to make the Full Set, only narrowly losing out in the end.  Thanks to your support, we get to include it as a Bonus Token instead.

No, nothing in Magic, or any other game that I've played, makes a Vampire Hunter Token.  It's a bit of fun and a good way to utilize all of the Presidential Portraits that I had access to.  Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, too good to resist.

Uncut Sheet!

After receiving several requests for a picture of the Uncut Sheet, I was able to get a good picture of our initial prototype.

 A few answers to the questions you may have:

• No, this is not the final selection of tokens that will appear on the Uncut Sheet
• The final Uncut Sheet will include the initial 48 tokens (in the correct order, the printer reversed it in the prototype), the 6 from the first Stretch Goal and the Avatar token (because I love that piece)
• No, the blank white spot in the top left will not be present in the final Uncut Sheet
• The Uncut Sheet does have a bit of horizontal white space between the rows and some markings to guide the machines.  These are production ready Uncut Sheets and are marked accordingly
• There will only be one version of Uncut Sheet created for this project

I Need You! (to Share the Project)

We are 3 days in and already well over 700% funded.  I'm more than impressed, I'm astonished by the support we've received.

Now that the initial rush of launch excitement has passed, we are entering the meat of the campaign and I need your help to keep up the momentum.

Here are a few things that you can do that will help us tremendously:

• Comment on the Project Page - I'm not asking for everyone to leave a comment, nothing like that, but if you have questions, suggestions or just want to leave a kind word, leaving a Comment helps the project rank in Kickstarter's internal algorithms.

Classic Art Tokens gets graded by The Professor from Tolarian Community College

Hey there, Josh here with a quick update.

I know we have the $30,000 Stretch Goal coming up fast, but I couldn't resist sharing this with you as soon as I saw it go live.

The Professor from Tolarian Community College on YouTube reviewed a Full Set of Tokens as well as a Playmat.

The final grade: A / A+

It appears The Professor is a fan of the project and we really appreciate his kind words and glowing review.

We took the time to ensure that we are making a quality product and it's endlessly encouraging to see that it was well spent.
